ATAR Music - Your Questions Answered
Event description
As studio music teachers, helping our students prepare for ATAR music can be a daunting prospect.
We often hear questions such as:
- How do IÂ best support my student through ATAR music?
- At what level should they play?
- What repertoire can they use?
- What is expected of me?
- Who will be grading them?
- Would a person who plays the violin grade my violinist?
- How should I communicate with their ATAR teachers?
Nick Fielding will be joining us for a 2 hour workshop to provide guidance on these questions and more.Â
Nick Fielding is currently the Music P-12 Curriculum Consultant at the School Curriculum and Standards Division of the Department of Education. Prior to this he taught years 7-12 Music at Kolbe Catholic College for 9 years, and before that, K-7 Music at Churchlands Primary School. Nick also taught piano from his home studio for around 7 years. Nick is a former ASME WA Committee member, ATAR Examination writer and ATAR Practical Examination marker.
