Athena Network Community Feedback Ride - May 2026
Description
The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure and Bike Fun invite you to join us for a community bike ride exploring changes to the bike network around Midtown.
This project has now moved into the 60-90% design phase and we need your help to finalize details!
The Athena Bikeways project will plan, design, and construct multimodal safety and mobility improvements, including high quality, low stress bikeways, on several streets in Midtown connecting to Centennial Park.
The project includes the following streets:
25th Avenue North from Elliston Place to Charlotte Avenue
Patterson Street from 25th Avenue North to Bar-B-Que Alley
29th Avenue North from West End Avenue to 31st Avenue North
Acklen Park Drive from Murphy Road to Long Blvd
Long Blvd from Acklen Park Drive to 31st Avenue North
Burch Avenue from 31st Avenue North to 29th Avenue North

Bike Fun can provide up to 10 bikes for riders who need one.
Riders ages 10+ are welcome on this ride; parent/guardian must accompany ages 10-17.

- 9:45 am - 10:00 am
Meet up and pre-ride check
Meet a little early at the start to get your tires pumped up and brief safety check of your bike if needed. If you've asked to borrow a bike, we'll get you sorted out.
- 10:00 am - 10:15 am
Basics of group riding and ride expectations
We'll check in to see who is an experienced group and/or urban rider and set some expectations of what we'll do on the ride.
- 10:15 am - 12:00 pm
Athena Bikeway Project ride
This is an estimate of the ride time to travel along the streets identified for bikeway changes and implementation. We will stop and discuss at junctures along the way. Project planners will be on hand to describe potential changes and to answer questions.
- 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Feedback and facilitated discussion
When we return to the start point, there will be some snacks and beverages and the ability to continue the discussion and offer more focused feedback.
