Event description

For those who seek adventure, inspiration, and an omni wellness activity for yourself, friends, or the whole family.

Not your typical race. Think of it like a Run + Scavenger Hunt + Escape Room rolled into one epic omni adventure. Not easy, but boy is it fun, healthy, and rewarding!

Distance: 5k or 10k

Time: 60 - 150 minutes

For All 12+: Sprint, jog, walk. All are welcome. Under 12 must be with an adult.

The Atheon Race Escape Quest #0314: A Cold Turkey Escape

Prepare your mind & body for an epic adventure through the mysterious shipping containers, coastline, park, and neighborhoods of Fort Mason, Russian Hill, Fisherman's Wharf and beyond in San Francisco, CA. Filled with inspiration, glory, and wonder. Your task is to find a mysterious golden key to save the beloved mayor of Turducken, Tod Turkenson. To do so, you will need speed, endurance, and wits to navigate the scavenger hunt and solve the puzzles to become an Omni Athlete and the savior of the town. Along the way take in the picturesque Pacific Ocean, park & coastal trails, Golden Gate Bridge, windy roads, and iconic spots in SF. Just don't take too long, you have a quest to conquer.

Game Play

01 A map and worksheet is provided at start

At the start line, the ATHEON host will provide you with your quest packet including a map, worksheet, and pen. The map and it's possible locations acts as your "running route".

02 Decipher the riddles, run, and locate the clues

Riddles are provided to help you in deciding which locations to run to. If correct, you will find an Atheon Sign. If not, keep going. How much you run depends on your ability to navigate the hunt.

03 Complete all tasks and find the Golden Key

Ultimately you or your team need to complete all the tasks, locate the golden key and make your way back to the start line. Your score is based on the tasks and your run time.

Game Details

Single or Team: Play yourself or together as a small or large team.

Team Size: No limit, but everyone in your group must purchase a ticket or get the group team ticket with a max number of people indicated. If you have more, buy multiple accordingly.

Age: Game play is suitable for age 12+, any kids on your team under 12 play for free and must be accompanied by an adult

You must be at least 16 to play by yourself.

Flex Start Time: Check-in with the host and begin quest anytime between 7:30 – 11:30 am on day of event

Pace: Sprint, run, jog, or walk at desired pace, but no assisted help (unless pre-defined for medical reasons.)

Distance: The distance indicated is an estimate, this is a scavenger hunt so naturally it depends on your navigation and puzzle skills.

Duration: 1 – 3 hours (depending on above)

No Devices: As mentioned above, this is an intentional device free zone to inspire you to use your own legs and wits. You are not allowed to use any technology assistance of any sort unless it’s an emergency or to track your steps for health/training purposes.

Start/End: The start and end of the quest is the same. The Atheon host will provide you with everything you need to begin. Once completed you come back and hand in your mystery solution to the host.

1st Time: Like all games, don’t expect to be amazing the first time.

Distance: Time & distance provided is a rough estimate as it depends on how you or your team is at navigating the map, finding the evidence/suspects and deciphering the mystery. Thus the exact distance you do will be up to you or your team. Feel free to come back to the start to see the ATHEON host as desired.

Fun: Almost every player who has participated in this race has said that time and distance was irrelevant as they are so distracted having fun navigating and solving the mystery that they don’t even realize how far or long it has been.

Strategy: Strategy is valuable. There are many layers to this game quest that allow for a multitude of different types of strategies. Making it all that much more fun and the desire to come back for more.
