Tintype Portrait Sessions - Highwic
Description
Wet Plate Portraits at Highwic
Have your portrait made using the photographic process of the 1850s, in the beautiful Victorian setting of Highwic in Auckland.
I’ll be bringing my mobile darkroom to Highwic for a limited number of portrait sessions this December.
Wet plate collodion is a completely analogue process. Each portrait is made by hand on a 5 x 4 inch glass or aluminium plate, coated, exposed and developed on the spot. No digital camera, negatives or retouching - just a one-of-a-kind photograph made right there in front of you.
Sessions are relaxed and suitable for individuals, couples, friends or family.
Your finished plate is varnished with traditional gum sandarac and you’ll also receive a digital copy.
Maximum two people per session. Spaces are limited and bookings are essential.
Tickets for good, not greed Humanitix dedicates 100% of profits from booking fees to charity
