    Event description

    • Have a startup idea, but don't know where to start?
    • Working on something in your spare time and want to connect with others?
    • Been bootstrapping for a while and need some help figuring out where to go next?

Sit down and share your issues, problems, and asks with the GridAKL team and others in a similar position and we'll find a way forward together. Breakfast & Coffee will be provided by GridAKL.

☕ Bootstrapper's Breakfasts meetings are for founders of early-stage startups. It’s a light before-work event to meet similar minded people; share what you're working on to get some help; and build a peer support network for yourself so you don't feel like you're doing it all on your own.

    Guest Speakers

Edwin Lim   | Partner @Hudson Gavin Martin

Ed lives and breathes tech. From an early age he’s been pulling apart and putting together computers and gadgets. He is in a unique position where he can leverage his qualifications and experience to provide technical, commercial and legal advice to clients on tech and other matters. Ed has the coveted CTO role at Hudson Gavin Martin where he continues to pull apart and put together all things tech. Passionate about giving back to the industry, Ed holds and has held board positions for the NZ Software Association, NZ Game Developers Association, and ADLS Technology Law Committee. Ed is also a lecturer for the University of Auckland’s Masters of Entrepreneurship and Commercialisation course, and a judge for the NZ Hi-Tech awards.

Calvin Luo   | Senior Associate @Hudson Gavin Martin

Calvin specialises in corporate law and has extensive experience in private equity and venture capital mergers and acquisitions. He advises on corporate transactions such as business sales and acquisitions, corporate restructures, capital raisings, joint ventures, shareholder agreements and employee share schemes.

During the session, Ed and Calvin will cover key topics such as selecting the right company structure, protecting intellectual property, and resolving common conflicts. If you're after valuable insights into the legal requirements and implications that can significantly impact your startup's success trajectory, then this session is for you!

This is an amazing opportunity to raise any questions or challenges your startup faces in the legal/IP space and receive expert advice tailored to your needs.

You should leave the morning event caffeinated and ready for your day ahead, along with new friends and actionable ideas to help you navigate the legal landscape of bootstrapping your venture or idea.

    Hope to see you there!
