Foundations of Insight Meditation:

A benefit for Auckland Insight with special guest Joseph Goldstein

This one-day workshop will follow on from the six-week class series offered by Jill Shepherd at Auckland Insight on Thursday evenings 7:00-8:45 p.m. July 2 - August 6 August.
During that series, Jill will give an overview of the core meditation instructions for insight practice, including the four foundations of mindfulness and techniques to strengthen calm and concentration.

Then during this one-day workshop, we will continue strengthening and deepening these core insight techniques through a variety of guided and silent sitting and walking meditation practices.

Special guest Joseph Goldstein

In addition, the workshop will begin with a live Q&A session via Zoom for approximately one hour, offered by Joseph Goldstein from the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts.

Joseph is giving his time as a benefit for Auckland Insight, so this event is only open to Auckland Insight members.

Priority will be given to regular Auckland Insight group meeting attendees and those who attend the six week class series, then to people who have attended Auckland Insight group meetings at least twice in the previous year (either in person or via Zoom).

Cost: $25 + dana*

*The registration fee covers only a contribution to room hire and event administration.

In keeping with Buddhist tradition, the teachings are offered on a dana basis which means the teacher is not paid to offer this workshop. Instead, they rely on the generosity of the participants to help them continue to share their teachings with others, and there will be an opportunity at the end of each class to offer donations to support their ongoing teaching.
