Audio Described and Tactile Tour | NEW26
Description
ACCA is pleased to offer a free Audio Described tour of current exhibition, NEW26. Join us on Saturday the 14th of November at 11:15am for a roving tour with tactile elements, lead by Sophie Coppenhall.
Celebrating the most compelling emerging artists from our region through bold and ambitious new commissions, NEW offers a vital platform for the next generation of Australian artists to experiment, take risks, and present major new work within a public institution.
Designed with the blind and low-vision community in mind, this tour will be informal, accessible in content and allow for self-directed exploration. We would like people to engage in the tour however works best for them. This could mean coming and going throughout, engaging in conversation or just listening to the information.
Access: ACCA is fully wheelchair accessible, with a wheelchair accessible bathroom, and a wheelchair available for use in the gallery on request at the front desk. Assistance dogs are welcome at ACCA. You can learn more about accessibility at ACCA here on our website. Please feel free to get in touch with us if you have any questions.
Enquiries: Please direct all enquiries via: info@acca.melbourne or call (03) 9697 9999
Image description: A dark, dramatically lit gallery space with two artworks. In the centre of the image is a large white helium balloon in the shape of an egg, with red and pink curtains behind it. In the foreground, people face away from the camera, looking at the artworks during a gallery tour. To the right, in the distance, a video work is projected onto a screen, which appears green.
