August 2026: Bendigo Tech Community
Description
Join the Bendigo Tech Community for an evening of pizza and conversations about all things tech.
Show and Tell: What's Actually in Your Dev Setup
Most conversations about developer tooling happen on the internet, where everyone has the perfect setup, and nobody admits their terminal config broke three months ago.
This one happens in a room, with pizza.
We're going around the group and sharing what we actually use day-to-day. No slides required. No polish expected.
What we're keen to see
Local models running on your own hardware to feed an agentic coding habit. What's working, what it cost you, and whether it was worth the setup time.
The developers who've deliberately kept AI out of their workflow. This is a genuinely interesting position and we want to hear the reasoning.
Your IDE, your theme, your keybindings. The VS Code extensions you couldn't work without, or the reason you left VS Code entirely.
How you've folded TDD into real work, and whether it survived contact with a deadline.
The difference between your work setup and your personal projects. Most people run two very different environments and rarely talk about why.
Anything else you've built, scripted, or bodged together to make your day easier.
How it works
Turn up, grab food, and share something. Demos can run two minutes or ten. If you'd rather just listen and ask questions, that's completely fine.
Bring
Your laptop. Anything you want to demo. Your curiosity.
Who it's for
Developers, engineers, hobbyists, vibe coders, students, and anyone in Bendigo who writes code or wants to write code. All experience levels welcome. Some of the best tips come from people three months into learning.
See you there.

7:30 pm - Show and tell
Four to five demos, five to eight minutes each. Questions between each one.
8:15 pm - Open floor
More pizza, more talking.

Next event details and where the conversation continues afterwards.
