In 2021, Australia, the UK, and the US announced the AUKUS partnership — including a plan to acquire up to eight nuclear-powered submarines at an estimated cost of $368+ billion over 30 years. It was announced without public consultation or a parliamentary vote, and big questions remain unanswered.

That's why an independent Public Inquiry has been launched, to give all the chance to have their say.
