The Aussie Backyard Bird Count is held for one week each October as part of National Bird Week. This year, the Aussie Backyard Bird Count will be held from 19-25 October 2020. Council and Birdlife Australia are hosting a brief bird survey (20 minutes) at Picton Botanic Gardens. For more information about the program, visit https://aussiebirdcount.org.au/
What to bring on the day
- Mobile phone or Tablet with the Aussie Bird Count mobile app (available on Apple and Android devices) downloaded prior to the event.
- Binoculars (spare sets will be available if needed)
- Clothing and footwear suitable for walking
Birds love to feed on native plants in the bush, including in residential gardens. Attendees will also receive a bonus native plant from Wollondilly’s Community Nursery to take home.
