Aussie backyard bird count Picton Botanic Gardens

The Aussie Backyard Bird Count is held for one week each October as part of National Bird Week.  This year, the Aussie Backyard Bird Count will be held from 19-25 October 2020. Council and Birdlife Australia are hosting a brief bird survey (20 minutes) at Picton Botanic Gardens. For more information about the program, visit https://aussiebirdcount.org.au/

What to bring on the day

• Mobile phone or Tablet with the Aussie Bird Count mobile app (available on Apple and Android devices) downloaded prior to the event.
• Binoculars (spare sets will be available if needed)
• Clothing and footwear suitable for walking

Birds love to feed on native plants in the bush, including in residential gardens. Attendees will also receive a bonus native plant from Wollondilly’s Community Nursery to take home.
