Austin Home Editor's Preview, Spring 2025
Event description
You’re invited to the Editor’s Preview of the Spring Issue of Austin Home: the Patina Issue.
This very special issue release party will be hosted at the historic McFarland-McBee House. Preservation Austin led the fight to save this beloved landmark in 2014 and purchased it in 2019. Once rehabilitation is complete, it will be home to the organization's office and a community-focused hub for preserving Austin's heritage and supporting preservation advocacy. Built in 1947, this rare local example of the Streamline Moderne style embodies the history of postwar Austin.
Join us for drinks and light bites, a fireside chat featuring the bright minds in this issue, and a chance to connect with the Editor-in-Chief of Austin Home. Guests will also get a first look of the Spring Issue before it hits stands. The volume is a celebration of historic preservation and adaptive reuse projects and ideas across the city. We explore Liz and Ben Kweller's historic Dripping Springs ranch, get a look into Clayton Korte's dedication to maintaining heritage in their work, go antique shopping with Avery Cox, and much more!Â
