Australian Bush Comfort and Confidence (ABCC) in Brimbank
Event description
Our extremely popular ABCC program is comming to Kings Park thanks to Brimbank City Council!
Are you new to Australia or just not confident stepping in to the Australian bush but wish that you could? Let our ecologist Rob Richards who spent 20 years living in the bush show you the tricks, tips, safety advice and knowledge to get you outdoors.
Come and join us for a fun filled afternoon where you will get hands on and learn about how to enjoy the wonders of the Australian bush safely and confidently. Learn about bushfire awareness, weather dangers, planning a trip, know what to take (and not take!) on a camping trip and get hands on as you practice how to set up a tent, know how to pick a safe campsite, how to safely light, manage and extinguish a campfire, know more about spiders and snakes including snake and spider bite first aid, practice bush skills like navigation and even learn some Aussie bush slang.
** PLUS Bush safety equipment prize valued at $50, Aussie Disposals discount vouchers, marshmallows around the fire, damper and more
We will cook marshmallows on the fire and will have lots of laughs with like minded people. Come on and gain the skills and confidence to get you out into nature so you and your family can start to enjoy the health and wellbeing benefits of being in nature.
