Join Australian Communities Foundation and the Walkley Foundation for lunch with Kerry O’Brien, one of Australia’s most distinguished and respected journalists. We will also hear from the Walkley Foundation's Chief Executive, Louisa Graham.
Good journalism plays an important role in safeguarding a democratic and fair society. Public interest journalism informs the public, holds the powerful to account, exposes injustice, and can have real impact – from royal commissions and policy changes to protecting and improving lives.
In a year when we’ve seen police raids of journalists’ homes and workplaces, and the profession uniting to push back, we hope you can join us for this timely conversation about the challenges and opportunities for sustaining this important work.
Lunch provided.
This event will be held on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
