AUSTRALIAN DESIGN IN LONDON
Description
JOIN US FOR AN INFORMAL OPEN MIC NIGHT BRINGING TOGETHER AUSTRALIAN CREATIVES, DESIGNERS AND INDUSTRY FRIENDS IN LONDON
Australian Design in London was developed by a group of prominent Australians based in London — Caroline Olah (REDDIE Furniture), Luca Frost (FROST* Collective), Miles Bradley (Mud Australia) and Rebecca Harkness (Yes Colours) — who recognised an opportunity to create something that didn’t yet exist.
Despite the depth and breadth of Australian talent working across the UK design industry, there is currently no dedicated platform connecting Australian designers with British audiences, industry and press.
Supported by the Australian High Commission and its Australia House Creatives network — a platform championing Australian creativity across music, visual arts, performance, comedy, literature, screen and design — the series will bring Australian design to the forefront of the UK creative landscape.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The evening will begin with an address from the Australian High Commissioner, followed by an informal open mic bringing together Australian creatives, designers and industry friends in London. A chance to share ideas, make connections and celebrate Australian design talent in the UK.
Later in the evening, enjoy tunes from DJ Freeza Chin and food by Playte as we continue the conversations and bring the creative community together.
Australian Design in London is a new series of events creating opportunities for Australian designers to connect, exchange ideas and build relationships across the UK creative industry.
