Event description

Music in the Regions in partnership with Upper Hunter Conservatorium of Music present Australian Haydn Ensemble.

Viennese Influence is a program of beautiful string quartets by the masters of the form - Mozart, Haydn and Boccherini. The Australian Haydn Ensemble (AHE) is one of Australia’s foremost exponents of the music of the Classical era, played on period instruments to bring you as close as possible to the sound worlds that the composers knew. By turns delightful, surprising and moving, this is music to uplift and inspire.

About Australian Haydn Ensemble
The Australian Haydn Ensemble (AHE) was founded in 2012 by Artistic Director and Principal Violinist Skye McIntosh and is now in its twelfth year. It performs in a variety of sizes and combinations, ranging from quartet, quintet or septet, to chamber orchestra with special guest soloists to a full orchestra with choir. From the Sydney Opera House to Carnegie Hall, AHE has performed on some of the great stages of the world. Taking their name from composer, Joseph Haydn, AHE’s flexibility and inventiveness are inspired by his fabled originality.

About Music in the Regions:
Music in the Regions (MitR) is an independent touring organisation established in 2022 to connect classical musicians with regional audiences and facilitate transformative musical experiences across New South Wales. These musicians perform in regions not traditionally visited, reinvigorating regional venues into concert venues, and fostering a vibrant, world-class New South Wales classical music industry. MitR is supported by the NSW Government via Create NSW, and through private philanthropy. For more information visit www.musicintheregions.com
