What students need to bring
Each student should bring:

• A pencil case with basic writing materials
• Any essential medication or personal items they may require
Food options available onsite are limited, so students should bring enough food and water for the morning.
Animal interactions
Animal welfare is the RSPCA’s highest priority.
RSPCA staff will endeavour to provide students with a safe and appropriate animal interaction; however, an animal interaction cannot be guaranteed. The welfare and comfort of the shelter animals will always come first, and animals will not be placed under unnecessary stress for the purpose of the program.
RSPCA NSW Behaviour Agreement
Before attending, every student must understand and agree to follow the RSPCA NSW Behaviour Agreement.
During the excursion, students must:
• Remain calm and predictable around all animals
• Stay with their Australian Homeschool Hub supervisors at all times
• Not run or climb while onsite
• Not scream, shout or make other loud noises
• Keep their fingers out of animal enclosures
• Never tap on the glass at the front of an enclosure
• Collect their rubbish after eating and dispose of it correctly
• Listen carefully and follow all directions given by RSPCA staff and Australian Homeschool Hub supervisors
• Treat animals, staff, supervisors and other students with kindness and respect
RSPCA NSW reserves the right to remove a person from the excursion if their behaviour is considered detrimental to an animal’s welfare.
During checkout, the parent or legal guardian completing the booking must read the attached RSPCA NSW Behaviour Agreement and confirm that they have discussed these requirements with their child.
The student must understand that following these requirements is a condition of participating in the excursion.
