Learn how to draw and watercolour heritage buildings or landmarks in this fun beginners class. Australia is full of amazing landmarks, natural or human, as well as some pretty iconic buildings.

Lets capture our favourite memories of these places and draw, ink and watercolour our favourite Australian landmark, street-scape or heritage building!

Marloes will guide you through the process, offering tips and advice on how to use watercolours, pens or markers to create you own slice of Australiana.

What will we cover?

This beginners painting & drawing class will focus on:

Using watercolours, pens and illustration skills to recreate your favourite landmarks or historical buildings
Drawing buildings, composition and using perspective
Basics of watercolour washes and ink

What will you need?

Paper – Ideally watercolour paper, but don’t worry if you don’t. Any thick paper will do.
Pencil, rule and eraser (sharpener too perhaps?)
Watercolours, or coloured markers (ideally brush tipped but not essential)
Brushes, glass of water, paper towel
Reference pictures of your favourite landscape, laneway or heritage building.

Who will be teaching?

Marloes Bakker-Marsden is life long and self taught artist who had explored and developed skills in a wide range of mediums and subject matter. She enjoys sharing her skills and passions with others in a light hearted and fun way that makes the experience totally enjoyable and rewarding for everyone involved. You can find her on Instagram.

We have introduced three different prices for our regular evening classes: $14 that covers all costs, $9 sponsored tickets for those struggling and $18 'pay it forward' tickets. If you can afford it please select the full price or pay it forward so we can continue sponsoring others who can't.

This class is delivered online via ZOOM:

ZOOM is free to install on your Windows or Mac computer and also available as an app for your mobile/tablet device.
You will need either the meeting link or both the meeting ID plus password. You don't need to create an account to attend a meeting!
If you are new to ZOOM please ensure you have downloaded and installed it in advance of the class.
