Australian Mensa Conference (AMC) Canberra 2026

WELCOME TO THE AUSTRALIAN MENSA CONFERENCE 2026!
Australian Mensa holds its annual conference in a different capital city each year. This year we are visiting the Nation's Capital, Canberra!
The conference theme is "Socialise". What better way to meet new friends and catch up with old ones?

WHO CAN ATTEND?
This event is only open to members of Australian Mensa, visiting Mensans and their guests. Join us for the largest Mensa in-person event of the year at QT Canberra, 1 London Cct, Canberra from 6th to 8th November.
The Australian Mensa AMC is a gathering of minds. A kids and adults conference is held concurrently. Children aged 6 - 18 are welcome to attend. 
You can book for the whole conference or just part of it. A ticketed adult must accompany any child who is booked to attend.

WHAT HAPPENS AT AN AMC?
The Conference kicks off on Friday 6th November. Early arrivals will have plenty to do. On Friday night there is an Icebreaker Party.
Saturday sees the conference proper take place. An adults and kids conference are held concurrently. 
There will be fascinating speakers and it's also a chance to catch up with old and new friends. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be served.
On Saturday evening its time for the Gala Dinner. Don't forget to dress up! The optional theme is "Puttin' On The Ritz".
The AGM will be held on Sunday morning. This is only open to current members of Australian Mensa. In the afternoon there will be optional tours and other activities. Any additional tours are not included in the price of the conference ticket and must be booked separately.
A testing session will also be held on Saturday afternoon.

ICE BREAKER PARTY
The Friday night icebreaker party will be held at QT Canberra. Meet old and new friends and soak up the atmosphere.

You can order your souvenir zip front top at the same time as you order your AMC tickets.
Please check the sizing. These will be available for collection at the registration desk.

FAQs

Can I book for just one part of the conference?
Yes, you can book for the whole conference or just part e.g. the Gala Dinner.

Does the conference price include accommodation?
No, you will need to book separate accommodation. We have secured special rates at QT for conference attendees.
Other nearby accommodation is also available.

Is there a booking fee?
Yes, a small booking/admin fee will apply.
 

Can I send my child unaccompanied?
No, a paid adult must accompany each child who is booked to attend.

How old is a "child"?
Children 6+ years are welcome to attend. 18 and over is considered an adult.

Can you cater for allergies and dietary issues?
Yes. Please specify when you book. We will work with the venue to ensure that the best efforts will be made to accommodate these.

Can I get a refund?
Yes. Full refunds are available up to 14 days before the event. You can do this under "manage booking".

Does the venue have disabled access?
Yes. The hotel has disabled access.

Is there a conference merchandise? 
Yes. There will be a limited amount of Mensa branded merchandise for sale at the event as well as some items available for pre-purchase. Check out the "Merchandise" tab when you book your tickets.

Where can I see the program?
The full program will be updated regularly. It can be seen here: www.amc.mensa.org.au

Will I received updates?
A monthly update will be sent out to the email that you used to register. This will include any additional information as it becomes available. 

Will there be pre and post AMC activities for delegates and guests?
Optional pre and post AMC tours will also be posted along with up to date details.
Stay tuned! These are not included in the conference ticket and must be booked separately.
The full program is still being finalised.
Some possibilities are local walking tours, visit to Questacon and Old Parliament House.

Is there a theme for the Gala Dinner?
"The optional theme is "Puttin' On The Ritz".

Will there be a test session on the Saturday afternoon?
Yes, a free testing session for relatives of members will be held at the conference venue.

What if the conference is booked out! Will more tickets be made available?
You can choose to be placed on the waiting list when you book. You will be notified if there are any cancellations.
There is no guarantee that more tickets will be made available.
