Australian Native Bee Workshop with Ian Driver

Did you know there are more than 1,700 species of native bees in Australia?! Most species don’t live in colonies we would call hives, many are solitary with 70 percent of them nesting in the ground.

Join local native bee expert Ian Driver for this fascinating workshop exploring Australia’s remarkable native bees. Learn how you can create a welcoming home for them in your backyard through plants and shelters.

Participants will also have the opportunity to make a simple, bee-friendly hotel and get to sample native bee honey.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about these fascinating creatures. Join us at Mooloolah River Landcare 9:45 for 10:00am start. The presentation will run for approx. one hour and the workshop will be another 30 minutes or so.

Please book your spot for the talk, and then add on a bee hotel kit if you wish to stick around and take home your own backyard bee hotel!

Bee friendly plants will also bee available for purchase. Numbers are limited so bookings are essential.

We look forward to welcoming you to this educational and fun morning! This event is supported by the Sunshine Coast Council Grant's Program.
