Dancing strings, lilting clarinet – the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra comes to southern NSW with sparkling chamber music from three brilliant composers. ‘Mozart’s Clarinet’ soars from joyful Schubert to the passion of Emilie Mayer and one of music’s best-loved pieces: Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet, played on a rare historical basset clarinet.
Founded by renowned musician and educator, the late Richard Gill OAM, the Australian Romantic and Classical Orchestra specializes in historically informed performance of late 18th to early 20th century orchestral and chamber music on period instruments.
Fresh from a Queensland tour and a sold-out Sydney Opera House performance, you will love the luminous sonorities of historical clarinet, violin, viola and cello.

The Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra (ARCO) is dedicated to bringing history to life through vibrant, historically informed performances of orchestral and chamber music from the late 18th to early 20th centuries. Performing on period instruments, ARCO offers audiences an authentic sound that captures the music’s original style and intent.
Led by co-artistic directors Rachael Beesley and Nicole van Bruggen, ARCO collaborates with leading musicians to stay at the forefront of historically informed performance (HIP).
Alongside national concert tours, ARCO runs innovative education programs, workshops, pre-concert talks, and community outreach, engaging audiences of all ages.

Music in the Regions (MitR) is an independent touring organisation established in 2022 to connect classical musicians with regional audiences and facilitate transformative musical experiences across New South Wales. These musicians will perform in regions not traditionally visited, reinvigorating regional venues into concert venues, and fostering a vibrant, world-class New South Wales classical music industry.
