Australian Volunteers Program Melbourne Information Session

The Australian Government has supported skilled Australians to volunteer overseas for over 65 years.

Join us at our head office in Fitzroy for a light morning tea, and to learn how you can support overseas organisations to achieve locally led, development goals.

Everyone is welcome. Registration is essential.

In our Information Session, you’ll:

• Meet Australian Volunteers Program staff who will share insights about the program and the application process
• Gain an understanding of the support that the program provides to volunteers such as allowances, flights and visa support.
• Hear from former volunteers who will share their experience on assignment and give you a glimpse of what life is like as a volunteer.

Australian volunteers come from a broad range of sectors, contributing the specific skills and experience required to support our partners. We offer a range of volunteering modalities; in-country, hybrid and remotely from home.

We encourage people with disabilities, couples, people with children, people from the LGBTIQ+ community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to attend.

The Melbourne Information Session will start at 10:30am (AEST) for an hour session, with time for additional questions after. Bring along family members, friends or share with anyone who might be interest.

After the session, why not continue your Saturday through the streets of Fitzroy. Our office is located between Smith Street and Brunswick Street, and only a 5-minute walk from the Rose Street Market!
