SESSION 2: IP 101 Design Registrations

DATE CHANGE - Tuesday, September 8th; 6.00-7.00 pm (Online)

IP Australia joins ADA for a session on design rights in Australia, what they mean and how to use them.

This session is for anyone who wants to build IP strategy into their business plan, not just understand it in theory.

IP Australia will explain design rights, how they can support your business’ success and how to apply for one to help protect the visual appearance of original work.

We will walk through how the design rights system works, followed by a live Q&A.

📍Tuesday, September 8th (Online)

📍Tickets: $20 + gst/bf ADA Members or $30 + gst/bf General Admission

What the session covers

The session and the live Q&A will help you understand how registered design rights can protect the overall visual appearance of your product.

We also cover the process involved in registering your design right, how long this takes, what it costs, when it’s worth engaging a lawyer, and what’s required to ensure you can defend a registered design.

How to apply: Typical application stages, timeframes and costs
Before you begin: What to search before submitting an application

Things to avoid: Common mistakes that may affect registration
