Author Event: Raised by Wolves by Tristan Bancks at Canberra Grammar School

We are partnering with the Canberra Writers Festival and Canberra Grammar School to host a special author event for young readers. Tristan Bancks will be launching and chatting about his brand new middle-grade novel Raised By Wolves (out May 1st), as well as his previous titles Two Wolves, Scar Town, The Fall, Cop & Robber, and Detention.

Twelve-year-old Olive Silver knows how to check every room with a knife when she gets home from school, how to survive alone and how to keep secrets. She’s had to - ever since her criminal dad abandoned her family five years ago and let them pay for his crime (this is the story in Two Wolves).

The day she spots him outside her school, everything tilts. Olive calls her big brother Ben, who’s two days from graduating the police academy, and follows Dad through rain and darkness, across railway tracks and through wrecking yards, desperate for answers. Tristan Bancks tells stories for the page and screen. His books for kids and teens include Two Wolves, The Fall, Detention, Cop & Robber, Ginger Meggs, the Tom Weekly series and, more recently, Scar Town, a suspense-thriller that won the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s Book of the Year for Younger Readers. His other awards and shortlistings include a CBCA Honour Book, the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards and the YABBA children’s choice book awards. His latest book for readers age 10+ is Raised By Wolves. Tristan is an author-advocate for literacy non-profit Room to Read.
