Author Event with Taesung | Asian Mental Health Bookclub

Join us for a virtual event where we will be chatting with Taesung about his memoir, Fixing Broken Mirrors. Born in Oklahoma but raised in Texas, Taesung is a Boston College alum with a bachelor's degree in psychology. Growing up, he did not enjoy writing but when he realized the beauty and the emotions that can be shared from a well-told narrative, he began to appreciate the artistry. In his book, Taesung couragously shares the story of his terrifying childhood and how he finds the resilience and strength to not allow his future to be defined by his past.

Who is this group for?

• This group is open to adults 18+ of any background. Please note that the conversation will center on Asian & Asian American themes.

What type of book club vibes can I expect?

• This book club will be more of a casual conversation about the book and how it can connect to our lives, rather than an in-depth literary discussion (though you're welcome to share your literary insights).

What will the event agenda involve?

• For book discussion meetings, most of the meeting will involve breakout groups with instructions and questions provided by the facilitator. There will also be time for all attendees to converse together. For the author discussion, there will be an interview of the author and audience Q&A.
  

Can I join if I didn't finish the book?

• Absolutely! While it would be helpful to read the book for a richer conversation, you can still participate without having done so.

Do I have to attend both sessions of a book, i.e. the group discussion AND the author's discussion?

• Nope-feel free to come to either session, or both!
