    Event description

As part of this year’s World Refugee Week celebrations, join award-winning author Reneé Pettitt-Schipp as she shares work from her poetry collection, ‘The Sky Runs Right Through Us’, as well as her non-fiction work, ‘The Archipelago of Us’. Both books centre on Reneé’s time teaching in Australia’s detention system on Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, as well as her experiences of living in these stunning, remote tropical island-scapes. Listen to short readings from both books and learn about the heart-warming relationships Reneé formed, as well as the challenges her experiences brought to her understanding of Australia as a ‘Fair Go’ nation.

Grandmothers for Refugees will be attending this event.

    Tea, coffee and cake provided.
