Persian-inspired tunes by Avaye Rood

Formed in 2006 under the musical vision of Behzad Ansari, this ensemble has been making waves globally - from Iran, Germany, Greece, to Australia and beyond. Their music is a harmonious fusion of Persian-inspired originals, seamlessly weaving together English and Persian verses inspired by Rumi. The band's name, translating to 'sound of the river,' pays homage to an ancient Iranian instrument, evoking the spirit of a lute.

The event is part of the SOS Touring Circuit (managed by Sacred Currents) which aims to connect the vibrant live music venues South of Sydney by providing a joint marketing website and three tours of cross-cultural music in 2024. The Circuit kicked off in March, with True Vibenation taking their conscious, soulful hip hop and afro-funk around the Circuit and now on the second tour is Avaye Rood.
