Avaye Rood SOS Tour FIllmore's, with Salty (support)
Event description
Discover the harmonious fusion of Persian-inspired tunes by Avaye Rood coming to Fillmore's this 26th May for a beautiful Sunday afternoon session.
Formed in 2006 under the musical vision of Behzad Ansari, this ensemble has been making waves globally - from Iran, Germany, Greece, to Australia and beyond. Their music is a harmonious fusion of Persian-inspired originals, seamlessly weaving together English and Persian verses inspired by Rumi. The band's name, translating to 'sound of the river,' pays homage to an ancient Iranian instrument, evoking the spirit of a lute.
Salty: Meet local band Salty - the melodic folk/rock four-piece who have been charming audiences recently with their catchy tunes. While they're all about that original vibe, Salty's musical cocktail draws inspiration from legends like Paul Kelly, The Cure, Crowded House and Johnny Cash. Warm yourself up for a sound that'll get your toes tapping and your voice
humming along in perfect harmony!
The event is part of the SOS Touring Circuit (managed by Sacred Currents) which aims to connect the vibrant live music venues South of Sydney by providing a joint marketing website and three tours of cross-cultural music in 2024. The Circuit kicked off in March, with True Vibenation taking their conscious, soulful hip hop and afro-funk around the Circuit and now on the second tour is Avaye Rood.
Thanks to Live Music Australia funding, this is an opportunity to showcase exciting contemporary culturally diverse music, and support local artists and music venues in the regions.
