The Avondale Racecourse Alliance (ARA) calls interested locals to hear updates from ARA - a voluntary collective of local community organisations and individuals seeking community input into the future use of Avondale Racecourse, our most significant multi-use green space.
ARA members will update on its mahi to date, introduce guest speakers and share its high level proposal for the future use of the Avondale Racecourse.
The Racing Act. Section 28 states:
“If it is not appropriate for negotiations to be resumed for the transfer of the surplus venue by agreement, the Minister must decide whether there are special circumstances regarding the use, or potential use, of the surplus venue by the community… including any proposals put forward by the wider community…”
ENTRY BY BOOKING only as capacity is limited.

Avondale Racecourse Alliance (ARA) advocates for community-led outcomes in the future development of the Avondale Racecourse land. Our collective engages with local government, business and community stakeholders, and the wider public. We make the case for maximum public green space, ecological protection, cultural enhancement, and accountability from decision makers. We call for transparency throughout the transfer and sale of the Avondale Racecourse land. ARA supports independent research, builds public awareness, and mobilises community to ensure this large, pivotal site delivers long-term benefits for the people of Avondale and Tāmaki Makaurau.
