Awaawaroa Bay Eco Village Organic Week Field Day
Event description
Kia Ora Koutou
As part of Organic Week NZ, we are holding a field day.
As a community we believe that 'organic' practices form an important part of living sustainably and contributing to a healthy eco system.
The field day is limited to 25 participants and involves a walk of approximately 2 km. Some of the terrain is steep and requires a reasonable level of fitness.
The programme for the day is as follows
11am - Welcome to your group at our community building - short visual presentation about the eco village.
11.45am - Morning tea (we would supply this)
12.15 am - 2.00pm Walking tour which includes:
Gulf Tree Nursery
Visit the eels/tuna (Māori word for eel)
A visit to a private home - adobe earth brick house
Visit to a private garden
2pm Lunch at the Community Building (people are asked to bring their own packed lunch - we aim for zero waste and so ask people to keep that in mind when selecting food - i.e minimal packaging)
3.00pm Conclusion.
Please bring a hat/raincoat/umbrella, good walking shoes, zero waste picnic lunch (we have water and tea/coffee).
We have a no dogs policy to protect the native fauna.
