Why This Retreat?

New Year's resolutions often begin with good intentions but can lead to a cycle of pressure and perfectionism. You start strong, face a setback, and suddenly it feels like failure. This half-day retreat offers a kinder, more effective way to start your year. Mindful intention setting is based on self-awareness, values, and compassion—not force.

Instead of chasing rigid goals, you'll learn to shape intentions that are meaningful, motivating, and sustainable throughout the year. Set in the natural beauty of Scotland Island on Pittwater, this peaceful experience invites you to pause, breathe, and reconnect with yourself before the year begins. The rustic Community Centre is in a tranquil setting, a place of solace where your body, mind, and soul connect with nature. A small group, no more than 12, will attend.

What You'll Experience

Through guided meditation, mindfulness practices, and practical intention-setting tools, you'll gain clarity about what matters most to you. You'll create intentions you can return to long after the retreat ends by setting your own "If-then implementation intentions."

Retreat Flow:

  • Welcome & Setting Intentions

  • Guided Visualisation Meditation

  • Gentle Walking Meditation (30-minute island break)

  • Nourishing lunch break

  • Intention-Setting Workshop & Reflection

  • Silent meditation practice

  • Group Q&A & Closing

What You Will Learn

  • How meditation reduces stress and reactivity so you can choose actions that align with your intentions instead of old habits

  • How to write clear, specific "if-then implementation intentions" that turn loose intentions into practical steps.

  • How to apply meditation, visualisation, and if-then planning to connect your values to everyday behaviour.

Tools for Your Journey:

  • A preparation guide sent ahead of the Retreat to support intention setting. Followed by a mobile-ready digital roadmap you can reference anytime for quick grounding and alignment

  • A beautifully designed printable guide you can pin up at home or work to keep your intentions visible
