Discover nature in a new way and enjoy this fresh approach to healthy friends and families activities held in a wild natural garden just outside of Fredericksburg.

Enjoy a short walk to a bold stream and beautiful lagoon where you will attune your senses and follow your natural attractions wandering where they lead you, to find wonderful natural objects that seem to reach out to get your attention. It is like a personal treasure hunt.

Whatever calls you or comes to you, that you seek to keep, you must be respectful and ask if they want to come with you. If they give you a "YES", which you will learn to listen for, you will put them in your recycled t-shirt bag, and give an offering of corn meal. You will fill your bag with stones, branches, bark, lichen, shells, and other interesting nature objects of various shapes, sizes, and textures. This treasure hunt is a wonderful activity for all ages...

Once the hunt is over, each person receives a sand tray. Placing the objects from your bag, you discover infinite ways of arranging them to create landscapes of many kinds inside your little tray. It is the best doodle art you can find and brings you into a state of calm and connection to the natural beauty.

The objective of this event is to allow adults to let their inner child out to play and for children to find their Zen, through fun simple nature activities. All participants may make and take their beautiful Zen Garden creation.
