AWC USA Wildlife Conservation & Connection in New York City
Description
We would love you to join us to explore how we work together to protect Australia's precious native wildlife and their habitats.
On Wednesday, 14 October, we are hosting an event in support of the Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) at Macquarie Group’s New York offices in Midtown from 5:30-7:30pm.
We will share a short presentation on the AWC’s vital conservation work and introduce members of the AWC USA team, followed by an opportunity to connect over canapes & cocktails with our growing network of supporters in the NYC community.
The Australian Wildlife Conservancy: Who we are & what we do
Australia is one of the most important nations on Earth for biodiversity. Most of Australia’s wildlife is found nowhere else in the world, making its conservation even more important - 87 per cent of our mammal species, 93 per cent of reptiles, 94 per cent of frogs and 45 per cent of our bird species are found only in Australia. Australia has the worst rate of mammal extinction in the world. At least 34 species have been wiped out in the past 250 years, with invasive predators like cats and foxes pushing many of them into oblivion.
The Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) is a global leader in conservation with the mission to effectively conserve all Australian native animal species and the habitats in which they live. AWC protects some of Australia's most iconic and endangered wildlife through science, innovation and partnerships. Together, we are restoring wildlife and habitats at scale.
