Description

Training as a resilience-building tool

How can we ensure that the information and skills we are teaching, and learning, are really inspiring change?

I’m sure we have all experienced that training course where all you want to do is see those dragging clock hands tick over to going home time. However, hopefully many of us have also experienced that training course where we have come out inspired, invigorated and ready to implement what we’ve learnt!

Whether you are a trainer or someone who undertakes educational updates and professional development, let's get together and discuss how we can inspire community and professional resilience building, and make sure we are not just “ticking boxes” and generating meaningless paper.

Kylie Ledger has been a trainer/assessor for nearly 20 years, delivering skills in business management, administration, high risk safety, first aid, firefighting and leadership.  She currently works for Royal Lifesaving, the NSW Rural Fire Service, and is an Adjunct Academic at the University of Newcastle in the post-graduate Disaster Risk Reduction and Sustainable Development program.
