Event description

Research has shown how awe changes the way we perceive ourselves in relation to the world around us. It can give us a sense of vastness and interconnection to the web of life.

An ‘Awe Walk’ is an evidence-based practice that’s been shown to have positive effects our physical and mental health. It’s about learning to touch into the the mystery and magic of nature in everyday moments. You don’t need to climb a mountaintop or sail the ocean to find awe. It can be as simple as learning how to pay attention to the most ordinary aspects of life.

Mindful walking is an ancient meditation technique that cultivates presence and brings us into a more intimate relationship with the present moment. Come learn and practice how to notice the trees in your local neighbourhood in a new way. How to listen to the languages of birds. How to fall in love with moss. It can be as simple as taking out your headphones, looking up, and noticing the details of the world around you.

Join Human.Kind mindfulness teachers Becca Gross and Tessa Leon for an adventure in seeing with new eyes right here in our city’s parklands.

Feel connected and a part of something bigger than yourself.
