AWG Vic Presents: Writing for Animation!

Talking animals, exploding aliens, fantastic worlds... all of your most surreal ideas (and more!) are possible when you're writing for animation! Join us as we dig into this weird, wild and wonderful world with an experienced panel who have written and produced shows for the ABC, Nickelodeon, Adult Swim, Fox Animation, Bento Box and more. 

Guests include writer / creator Marisa Nathar (co-creator of Happy House), producer Nick Colla (Latenite Films), writer / animators Millie Holten (Long Head) and Michael Greaney (Weird Times In Hillside), writer / showrunner Tim Bain (Knee High Spies, Kangaroo Beach) and writer / development exec Marisa Nanakhorn-Brown (Spooky Files, Princess Pictures).

Date: Wednesday September 16, 2026
Time: Doors open from 6.30pm for a 7pm start
Location: JMC Academy - Park Street Campus,  208 Park St, South Melbourne VIC 3205 (an accessible venue)
Getting there: Lots of free parking on the street after 6pm, and the number 1 and number 12 tram stops are right by the venue.
When you arrive: Check in with our friendly AWG team at the door, then make your way up to the auditorium on the top level!
Afterwards: We'll finish about 8.30pm, then you're invited to join us at the Limerick Arms Hotel across the road for a drink and a casual chat with other attending writers and creatives.
Tickets: $10 for members, $15 for non-member
