Event description

With two lead vocalists, enchanting harmonies and intricate guitar and banjo melodies, five-piece indie-folk band, Axe & the Ivory, is comprised of a bunch of best mates who grew up playing music together. Described as a songwriting force, they’ve recently played major Australian festivals including Woodford Folk Festival, Wingham Music Festival and Cygnet Folk Festival and were named by inDaily as one of the top South Australian bands to watch. They’re excited to be heading to Brisbane as part of their first east coast tour this October, and will be supported by talented North Brisbane local, Mat McCouat. Mat is influenced by artists like Johnny Cash, Vance Joy and The Lumineers and his sound brings a mix of indie/pop, with a little bit of a country/folk twang.
