Description

 áyA Con brings together over one hundred artisans, nonprofits, creatives, and Native‑owned businesses for a vibrant marketplace and community gathering. Attendees can explore original artwork, comics, fashion, beadwork, sculpture, digital media, and cultural organizations representing nations across Turtle Island. We celebrate indigeneity, all people are welcome to attend!

FAQs

  • Can I attend if I am not Native American or identify as Indigenous?

    Absolutely! We celebrate Indigeneity, all people come from the land. We welcome you to come connect with our artists, performers and other attendees, celebrate other cultures and reconnect with your own roots.

  • Can I take pictures at the Con?

    Before you take any pictures of another attendee in cosplay or performer in regalia. You should get their clear and direct consent: wearing cosplay does not automatically mean consent. Special guests are on a case by case basis, and should also be asked.

  • Alcohol/Substance Policy

    We are a sober festival. No alcohol, vaping, cigarettes or non-prescription drugs allowed in the building.

  • Can I cosplay?

    We have a MeowWolf sponsored cosplay contest, so yes cosplay is welcomed and encouraged!

    Here are some suggestions:

    If you are Non-Native

    The Dos-

    Most popular characters from comics, anime, movies and other media. (Avatar Last Air Bender, XMen, Studio Ghibli etc.)

    Environmental or cosmic guardians fantasy characters inspired by land, sky, or storytelling

    The Don'ts-

    Do Not dress as Pocahontas- it's a very complex and complicated situation that will almost always end in conflict.

    Do Not wear or display any costume that is intentionally making a mockery of another culture or religion (No Spirit Halloween costumes) -You will be asked to leave.

    If you are BIPOC


    Indigenous Futurism cosplay: Original characters with futuristic Native aesthetics

    Native‑inspired versions of mainstream characters, Marvel, DC, anime, video games, etc.

    Fashion‑forward Indigenous looks streetwear, glam, or avant‑garde styles rooted in your identity

  • Family Friendly?

    Absolutely! You will find that tickets are free for youth and elders. And we have drop-in art activities, non-profits with kids activities and a Star Wars activation. There is something for everyone to enjoy!

  • Will there be food?

    Yes! We will have Indigenous food vendors and food trucks on site!

  • What is parking like?

    There are many lots around the venue and in the near by streets, Most lots at the event center usually charge a parking fee of $15.

    You can also Lyft or take the lite rail to the area, though it will be a little bit of a walk.

  • How do I get tickets to the Fashion Show?

    Our Futurism Fashion Showcase this year will be located at MeowWolf Perplexiplex, please follow the links on our website as that will be a separate ticket from the general festival.

  • Where do I stay if I am out of state?

    There are many hotels near by along i70 and along Brighton Blvd.

    Some suggestions are Vib Denver, Cambria, CatBird and the Source.

  • Will artists be taking commissions?

    This is a question for the artists but in most cases the vendors will be taking commissions.
