Event description

This strengths-based course, developed in consultation with Australia’s First Nations people, equips participants with the skills to provide culturally safe mental health first aid for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adolescents.

Participants learn to:

  • Recognise signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in young people

  • Respond to emerging or worsening issues using a practical, evidence-based action plan

  • Offer initial support and guide young people to professional, cultural, and community-based services

On completion, adults become Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders), confident in providing vital support when it matters most. The course is recognised by Suicide Prevention Australia as a safe, high-quality, and effective suicide prevention program.

Taking place across two full days, catering is provided. Please supply your dietary requirements.
