Ayurveda Sangha: Victoria (November)
Description
For Ayurveda Practitioners and Students
We welcome you to the second Sangha in Victoria.
Throughout Australia, the path of Ayurveda can feel isolating and unsure for many practitioners and students. Often, there is a deep wanting for connection, collaboration and support, but an uncertainty of where to find it.
This Sangha is here to change that.
Our intention is to cultivate a living network of Ayurveda practitioners and students particularly in Victoria.
This is about restoring Sangha.
It's not about networking, pitching or hierachy.
It's a living field where the prāṇa of Ayurveda can circulate between practitioners and students, strengthening confidence, clarity, collaboration, and purpose.
Rooted in the shared Ayurvedic sankalpa:
swasthasya svāsthyarakṣaṇam, āturasya vikāra praśamanam
"To protect the health of the healthy and relieve the suffering of the sick."
When practitioners are supported, Ayurveda flourishes.
What Becomes Possible
You leave these sanghas feeling:
Less isolated in your offerings
More connected to fellow practitioners and students
Clearer about how your offering fits into a wider ecosystem of Vedic healing and wisdom
Energised by shared purpose rather than comparison or competition
The Evening
A warm, grounded gathering including:
Chai and sweets
A keynote speaker: Vaidya Gurnam Singh Saini
A gently facilitated, workshop-style collaboration process
Time to connect, reflect, socialise & have fun
Why This Matters
Across Australia, there is deep Ayurvedic knowledge.
What’s been missing is consistent Sangha.
This gathering is the beginning of something ongoing.
A space that will continue regularly, grow organically, and be shaped by the people who show up.

Theme for November:
Continuation of wisdom discussion from the September Sangha.
Because many missed out on heaing Vaidya Gurnam talk and many would like to hear him talk again, we are inviting him back to the next Sangha to continue the discussion.
Vaidya Gurnam Singh Saini will be sharing how we can more easily integrate Classical Ayurveda into the modern world and Australia and how we can work within the guidelines in Australia, plus he'll be available to answer any questions you may have.
With over 20 years of clinical experience in India and Australia, Vaidya Gurnam will draw on his experiences to talk about the following:
What should be kept sacred and what can evolve to meet the modern day?
How can we nuture and grow Ayurveda in Australia?
How he has integrated Classical Ayurveda in his own clinic.
How can we work within guidelines in Australia, including TGA requirements.
This will be followed by an open discussion - a time to ask questions, get curious, share experiences, challenges or opportunities on practicing classical Ayurveda in Australia.
A meaningful conversation on tradition, adaptation, community, and the living wisdom of Ayurveda.
About Vaidya Gurnam Singh Saini
Vaidya Gurnam Singh Saini is Melbourne-based and his professional journey began in India more than two decades ago when he bagan studying a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) in 1999. He completed this course in 2005 which included a compulsory 1-year intership. He then worked for 2 years in an Ayurvedic Hospital in India. Then in 2007, he moved to Melbourne.
Relocating to Australia required Vaidya Gurnam to adapt his Ayurvedic knowledge to a different healthcare system, culture and lifestyle. He recognised that many people were interested in Ayurveda but needed someone to explain it clearly and practically. He has worked to make classical Ayurvedic knowledge practical, understandable and relevant to people living modern Australian lives.
As the founder of Pure Herbal Ayurved, Vaidya Gurnam provides personalised Ayurvedic consultations, nutrition and lifestyle guidance, herbal support, Panchakarma programmes and selected Ayurvedic therapies. He consults in Richmond and Wantirna South.
