B.T.S (Books, Tunes and Snips)
Description
Join our Asian Australian creatives for a relaxed afternoon, designed to spark conversation, connection, and creativity with Books, Tunes and Snips.
Taking place at That Paper Joint, the afternoon will run two collage-making sessions with artists from Pierrot’s Room (all materials provided) accompanied by tunes from local Asian Australian musicians playing ambient grooves: SHERRY3.14, Xing Xing and Juniper Care.
These craft sessions are fun, fast-paced and collaborative. Participants will create a record artwork with a link to a playlist curated by the 3 music acts. After each 90 minute session, audiences will walk away with their own unique creation and a ton of new music.
This event is presented as part of Brunswick Music Festival. Special thanks to artists at That Paper Joint as venue supporters - who generously host all guests and creatives in their space. Please note that the workshop content is developed and facilitated by Pierrot’s Room (an art collective for QTBIPOC),and Utopia Entertainment - not by the artists at That Paper Joint.

Playing during second session: Syd Farey is a multidisciplinary artist performing as Xing Xing Her genre-blurring sets are informed by a cross-cultural sensibility shaped by early training in classical Chinese music and the Erhu,
Juniper Care
A talented multi-instrumentalist and versatile producer, Juniper Care is an artist unwilling to be boxed into any one genre. Over the majority of his life, Juniper has managed to amass a diverse and detailed body of work that focuses on exploring the many nuances of the human experience. Your ticket includes:
Participation in the 90 minute craft session (all materials provided)
Light refreshments are also provided (tea, biscuits)

- How long is each session?
Each of these sessions will run for approx.90 minutes :
-2.30pm to 4.00pm;
-4.30pm to 6.00pm;
We would recommend you to arrive 5 to 10 minutes prior to your session for check-in.
One day prior to the event, Utopia Entertainment (as co-organiser) will get in touch with you for all important information and a brief run-down of how the session will be facilitated.

All materials are provided so you don't have to bring anything.
