There is a point in a Business Analyst's career where the next step stops being about doing analysis better.

It becomes about deciding how much analysis a piece of work deserves, defending that decision to a sponsor who wants more or less, and being accountable when the calibration turns out to be wrong. That is a different job, and very little training addresses it.

Two full days on the practice-leadership version of the role: where analysis sits relative to funding decisions, how to scale depth to the scale of the problem, and the economics you have to be able to argue in front of a CFO.

Who this is for

Senior Business Analysts, BA leads, practice managers and anyone accountable for how analysis is done across more than their own work. Also useful for delivery and portfolio leaders who fund analysis and want to know what they should be getting for it.

What we cover

The economic case for positioning analysis upstream of funding decisions — and the five conditions under which that case collapses
The two foundations that apply to every initiative regardless of size
Bronze, Silver and Gold: scaling analysis depth to the scale and risk of the work
The tier classifier — the five factors that decide which tier a piece of work belongs in
The two calibration failures: uniform heaviness and uniform lightness, and why both discredit the discipline
Leading a practice: standards, review, and capability uplift across a team
The Centre of Excellence — what it costs, what it returns, when it will fail, and how to build it over twenty-four months
Making the argument: presenting the economics to a sponsor or a CFO

What you leave with

A tiering model you can apply on Monday and defend on Tuesday
A repeatable method for calibrating analysis depth
A costed, honest position on a Centre of Excellence — including whether you should have one
