'The Other Europe'
Event description
Baba and Dedo come from a little known country called Macedonia, so they are well versed in being over-looked. We wanted to do our part in contributing to a more holistic and expansive global world view.
So, with the help of our friends 'JUS' and Gourmet Traveller Wine we are very excited to announce a wine and food event cheekily titled, 'The Other Europe'.
You won't find wines from France, or Italy, or Germany. No duck l'orange or ravioli either. This event is all about celebrating the people and wonders which come from Eastern and Central Europe. Expect lively and diverse Eastern/Central European natural wines from a range of Australia's best importers (Fox Wine Company, Vivant Wines, Quelvino & more), as well as some 'Other Europe' expats claiming Australia as their home whilst continuing the long and storied tradition of winemaking.
Aside from the wine, there will be musical guests on the day soundtracking our Eastern/Central European journey AND the kitchen team at Baba's Place will be providing a Balkan inspired spread for us all. We will keep information on that close to our chest but expect some delightful surprises.
Anything goes in Eastern Europe, a sentiment which also rings true for Baba's Place.
