BABY DRAG THINGS: Youth Drag Workshop
Baby Drag Things: Youth Drag Workshop for 12-24 year olds.
Calling all emerging Queens, Kings 'n Things. Learn the art of drag with YAAS! Youth worker and Drag King Carlee aka Tom Foolery and local Queen Diva D-Lish. Create a Drag character, play with costumes, makeup and perfect your lip syncing. Have a chance to perform in a safe space, surrounded by other Young People trying Drag for the first time.
Get ready to SLAY!
What is provided?
- Lunch
- Make up to play with
- Costumes to borrow
What to bring?
- A water bottle and some morning tea
- Any make up or costume items that you have at home (it's okay if you don't have any!)
- Choose a song you'd like to lip sync to, and learn the words before the workshop!
(This workshop is for ages 12-24 so please choose songs without explicit content. Everyone should feel safe and comfortable during the workshop.)
FREE but must be registered to attend.
About the artists:
Carlee Heise (She/Her) wears many hats. She is a Youth Worker and Artist Facilitator by day, and a Drag King and performance maker by night. Carlee has performed in Drag for organisations such as Biconic, Heaps Gay, Queerspace Australia and Wear it Purple. Her acting and performance making credits include The Experts at Crack Theatre Festival and Sydney Fringe in 2019 as a part of Shopfront Arts Co-op’s Harness Ensemble, Return of Kings at Shopfront Arts Co-op for the ArtsLab: Uncanned 2019 season, Surf Seance by Rachel Kerry at Bondi Feast. In 2020 Carlee directed a revised season of Return of Kings at Old 505 in Newtown. Carlee has facilitated creative workshops for Young People aged 8-19 both at Shopfront Arts Co-op and now with Naughty Noodle Fun Haus on the Central Coast.
Jack Williams: Naughty Noodles very own First Nations trans non-binary superstar Diva D-Lish has dazzled with a heart full of gold and a body full of glitter, a Singer, Dancer, Model and Circus artists who’s shared the big stage with some of Australia’s greats like Casey Donovan, Dami Im, Christine Anu and Jess Mauboy.

It's a Gorgeous Gosford Summer Takeover as we park our virtual caravan at the Parkhouse in Kibble park for live music, workshops from Burlesque to crafty good stuff like felting and macrame! There is fun for all ages with School holiday action as well as all ages free community haircuts!
