BabyEd Baby + Child First Aid- Friends of the Mackay Birth Centre
Event description
A big thank you to Friends of the Mackay Birth Centre for hosting a Mackay public Baby/Child First Aid Session!
It is a 2.5hour session run by health professionals covering the following topics most relevant to those aged 0-4years:
- “Red Flags”- recognising an unwell baby/child
- Infant/Child CPR (with hands on experience)
- Breathing: Red Flags (what to look out for), whooping cough, croup and asthma
- Allergies/Anaphylaxis
- Rashes
- Choking
- Poisons, bites and stings
- Burns
- Fever, febrile convulsions and pain relief
- Head Injuries/lacerations
* If you wish to have a take home resource booklet please select this as an add-on. It has space for your own notes as well as reliable fact sheets on the topics covered, app suggestions and comes bound with a BabyEd pen. These are great to look back on and keep handy in the house.
