It gave me so much more than I expected
Aimee created a lovely, safe atmosphere where there was no judgement, even when he had a cry or feed. It gave me a chance to build my confidence connect with my baby and make friends for life

A four-session baby yoga course: three weekly classes and the Christmas workshop, A Stretch by Starlight, to finish.
Somewhere around three or four months, your baby changes. The sleepy newborn settles and a wrigglier one turns up, kicking legs and reaching hands, twisting round to see what's going on. Baby yoga is built for exactly that stage, and it's the natural next step after massage.
Over four weeks we work through a sequence of supported holds, stretches, balances and movement, including the big swooping holds babies love. It builds the strength and balance that sitting and crawling need, along with the cross-body movements (one hand reaching to the opposite foot) that lay the ground for rolling and coordination. You learn it properly across the weeks, so you can carry it on at home.
It looks like play, and it works like real developmental support. The same movements that build strength also shift trapped wind and take the edge off the difficult end of the day. A baby who has moved and had a good giggle tends to feed and settle a little more easily.
And there's the laugh. The flying holds get a proper belly laugh out of nearly every baby. That laugh is a baby feeling safe enough to let go, which is really the whole point of it.
It's a more active class than baby massage. There's eye contact, a bit of song and rhythm, and a back-and-forth that suits a baby who is awake to the world now and wanting more to do. It stays gentle, and it grows with them, the sequence getting a little harder as they get stronger week by week.
There's time kept for you in every session too. Some breathing and gentle movement to reconnect with your core and pelvic floor, and room for the postnatal questions this older stage tends to bring.
We finish with A Stretch by Starlight, our Christmas baby yoga special. It's a slightly longer session with a festive set-up and a few twinkly extras, and a lovely way to round off the year together.
What the four weeks build, for them and for you:
The strength and balance behind sitting and crawling
Cross-body movement that helps with rolling and coordination
Easier digestion and softer evenings through gentle movement
The belly laugh that comes from feeling safe and held
The same small group from massage, carrying on together
Postnatal wellbeing woven through, kept for you

Baby Yoga is suitable from around 6 weeks, most mums choosing it from around 3 months, until crawling. In most cases, premature babies would attend in line with their adjusted age (dependent on their medical history)
Just whatever you’d normally bring for yourself and your baby. Mats, oils and class materials are provided.
Sessions include gentle yoga inspired exercises, developmental movements, songs, relaxed discussion, and space to slow down a little together. The atmosphere is calm and unhurried.
Something comfortable for you to both move and sit in.
The first session is designed for one parent and baby, and we can discuss partners or family members attending a later session if this is suitable amongst the group.
There are car parks located off the high street, pay to park and 90minute free options. There is often residential parking nearby.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, but there’s never any pressure to socialise at all. Conversation is facilitated or tends to happen naturally and is optional. Most mums choose to meet up after the classes.

All the while mums are able to wind down, reflect and connect with other mums. Would definitely recommend this baby class to new mums and take it up myself again if I had another.
