Bach in the Dark - Music for Cello and Double Bass - The Living Bach

To finish the 2025 season, Rachel will be joined once again by the fabulous bass player, Ben Ward. This concert will be one with a difference – Rachel and Ben have chosen music either by J.S. Bach, or music by living composers.

Assisted by sound technician, Ben Sibson, the concert will feature works by Richard Charlton (who has written something especially for these concerts, inspired by Bach), Carl Vine, Jon Rose, David Pereira and Ben Ward. There will be not just the beautiful deep sounds of the cello and double bass, but birdsong, electronics and some amazing effects that will fill the crypt. It'll be a concert to remember!

The crypt will be open at 6.30pm, and a glass of wine (or non-alchoholic equivalent) will be offered to every patron. Ticket sales will STOP at 2pm on the day of the concert, and if there are any tickets available, they will be available at the doors of the crypt as you arrive.
