A message from Ethan, Host of Feel The Floor

"I am consistently floored by the level of thought and consideration that we as Mob put into our creative outputs. Our creativity is an extension of ourselves and communities, allowing us to tap into the depth, breadth and expansiveness of electronic music. This is what I wanted BACK 2 BLAK to reflect: 

• SOVBLKPSSY will be delivering a set earmarked by warm, erotic club sounds, and textured with a depth of knowledge from participating in and commanding underground dance floors. 

• Nicholas Currie is bringing the fun of the club to the forefront, tapping into the moments where you shake some, all while having full permission to be as loud and proud as you can; the type of music you unashamedly play at full volume while cleaning the house.

• SKNOW draws inspiration from the surrounding environment, presenting a hybrid performance that displays her fluid form and projects her visual work into the space.

• DJinda is currently channelling deep into the sound canon, and will be delivering a set of finely tuned and selective deep cuts. 

• randals dad is stepping away from the chugging basslines on the airwaves of Feel The Floor and exploring a slower side built on ambient, idm and prog.

It is innate for us to connect deeply with something– someone– and each other through music. And, I believe that we, as Blackfullas, are at the forefront of connection through music. We just think damn so creatively in everything we do <3

Food and drink options will come in due course– some things run on island time. 

This is a FREE event, with registrations encouraged to assist with catering and staffing.

This is a space to gather for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples during NAIDOC Week with our friends and families. Allies are welcome while encouraged to reflect on space they hold in attendance.
