Back Creek Reserve Biodiversity Planting Event- Clean Waterways
Description
We are excited to announce that we have a heap of native plants to be planted at this site as part of the Clean Waterways expo. (Thank you Boroondara Council)
This event complements and celebrates the wonderful commitment by Boroondara Council to plant significant biodiversity as part of their Greenways program.
Following the riparian fringe of Back Creek, now underground and hidden, this site is part of the Back Creek biodiversity corridor and is one of the more densely treed areas in Boroondara. But it lacks understory plants and grasses, critical for attracting beneficial insects and small birds back to our suburbs.
Our planting will help to correct that and will play a critical link in connecting the corridor to the Gardiners Creek biodiversity corridor. We look froward to you becoming part of this legacy project.
A free BBQ will be provided.
We will initially gather at the Scout Hall at 101 Glen Iris, Road Ferndale Park, before making the short walk to the planting site off Denman Avenue.
