Event description

Get back into nature using acrylic on canvas, creating a beautiful Australian native floral piece. You’ll use different brush and palette knife techniques, guided step by step by artist Greer Tappert. No experience is required. All materials supplied. Including nibbles and a glass of wine.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
South Australian artist Greer Tappert is inspired by nature, animals, the universal energy, bold and bright colours, and the integration of these with emotion. She combines her own energy with her tools of trade; colour, techniques, mediums, and creativity, producing truly unique work. She loves to do things differently.

She lives on the coastline in Semaphore, grew up in the Adelaide foothills in Tea Tree Gully, and spent time in the Barossa Valley, where her late Grandparents lived, in Marananga. She is surrounded by nature, which is her inspiration – from the blue ocean to the Adelaide Hills and all in between. Greer is also an Artist in Residence at Rosenvale Vineyards and exhibits constantly across Adelaide.

Her style is a real mixed bag, a combination of impressionism, abstract and realism. It’s expressive and tells stories, coming from her subconscious, which she then transforms into (her) own reality, creating beautiful art sharing how she views the world – she inspires people with her visions, her artwork and her use of colour.

Greer’s multi-layered process and integration of techniques is her unique recipe, creating beautiful patterning in her background and integrating her visual story with other realistic elements. Her bright, positive energy and personality is reflected throughout her work; Greer’s life is all about bright colours, connecting and healing.

Specialising in acrylics, watercolour and illustration, she is constantly experimenting and applying these mediums on many surfaces, including canvas, paper, wine bottles, glass, wine barrels, surfboards and more. Greer also has her own card range and unique leather products and runs acrylic workshops where she helps people bring out their inner creativity and enhance their current skills whilst having a lot of fun.

“My work is about connecting with people, inspiring and helping them heal emotional wounds through colour - it resonates with those searching for more positivity in life and learning to appreciate the small things - this makes my heart warm”.

Greer also takes commissions for residential and commercial projects, so feel free to contact her and follow her journey on her socials.
