Event description

Join us for a free community screening of the film Backpack Full of Cash, narrated by Matt Damon. This riveting documentary explores the real cost of privatising public schools in the USA, and the dangers of charter schools. Tickets are free, but seats are limited.

We are fundraising to support the work of the Ōtūmoetai Social Supermarket. If you are able to contribute to their work of providing a place where everyone has access to affordable, safe, nutritious kai, you can make a "gold coin" donation to our collection on the evening.

Arrive from 4.30pm for the film to start at 5.00pm. Light refreshments will be provided.

This event is hosted by the Post-Primary Teachers Association Te Wehengarua (PPTA) Western Bay of Plenty committee, and is open to the public. For more information about our Standing with Public Education, visit charterschools.co.nz
